Sun Shines for the Base2Race Pulse Aquathlon

Finish line at the Base2Race Pulse Aquathlon 2018

A beautiful sunny morning heralded the start of the Base2Race Pulse Aquathlon at the North Bull Island last Sunday. This year the event hosted the Triathlon Ireland Aquathlon National Championships, and there were three national titles up for grabs.

Senior Championships

Ailbhe Carroll and Con Doherty claimed top spots in the senior female and male championship. James Walton took the silver medal and Tom McEnery the bronze in the male race, while Niamh Corry and Emma Porter took the silver and bronze respectively in the female event.

Junior Championships

In the Junior championship, Sabian Kulczynski clocked up a very impressive time to take the male title. Erin McConnell was the first female finisher with an overall time of 35:05. Pulse’s Orla Walsh finished just behind her with a time of 35:49.
